Manipulative and Unethical
I went to the Howard/IH 35 location in Austin Texas because my son had blown a tire. Our usually Discount Tire was closed and it was an emergency. Of course, NTB said we need all 4 tires! Because we bought the car used and there were other indications that the previously owner likely wasn't diligent about service, we went ahead and did it. There were a few other things added which I could talk about but what was the worst was that the guarantee and service which were promoted as "included" (and which are with Discount Tire so we had no reason to believe differently) were actually something I was charged an extra $300 for! Like a used car salesman, the manager brilliantly spun all the "discounts" we were getting and wouldn't allow us to see a printout until we signed for the car. I shouldn't have been so trusting because once I got the printout home, I discovered the extra charges and have been fighting them for about 2 months now! Stay away from this shop; Discount Tire is right across the highway. The service is better at Discount Tire and the people are much more honest.
